Want it down?
You need the Crown™!
3D printed FPV drone attachment for safe mid-air drone capture. Reusable, affordable, lightweight.
Why capture a drone?
Drone activity can be lawful or, unfortunately, unlawful. According to DroneSec (2023), in 83% of detected drone incidents, malicious operators retain control of their drones, resulting in a low 5% operator apprehension rate. Capturing an unlawfully operated drone can provide valuable intelligence for identifying the operator and discerning their intentions. Moreover, possessing the capability to capture a rogue drone is likely to act as a deterrent against unlawful use.
How does it work?
Once a malicious drone is detected, the FPV drone pilot deploys a hunter drone equipped with a crown attachment. Guided by the pilot, the hunter drone maneuvers towards the target drone, making precise contact with it and the crown trigger.
Upon contact, the crown securely captures the target drone, disconnects from the hunter drone, and deploys a parachute for a controlled descent. For added security, an arrest wire may be utilized to transport the captured drone to a designated safe landing location.
Bring it Down Invitation
Drone Band invites FPV drone pilots to participate in the "Bring It Down" competition. Participants will use the Crown™ Drone Capture device to create one or more drone chase and capture videos. The top three videos, based on YouTube "Like" counts, will win prizes of £1000, £600, and £400, respectively.

Potential Users
The Crown drone capture solution serves diverse industries, including event organizers, prisons, ports, airports, Ministry of Defence (MOD), police, landowners, ship owners, and private security firms. Versatile and effective, it finds applications in law enforcement, defence, event management, and private security. With an estimated user base of 5000 in the UK and 100,000 worldwide.
The Competition
Compared to competitors, the Crown boasts several key advantages:
Cost: Probably the most cost-effective CUAS solution globally.
Versatility: Compatible with a wide range of FPV drones.
Weight: Lightweight, enabling safe capture operations in urban settings.
Range: Depending on the hunter drone and the environment, it can reach up to 10 km.
Intellectual Property
Drone Band possesses pending UK, Hong Kong and PCT published patents for its innovative drone capture technology.
Is it Legal?
The legal framework for utilizing the Crown varies and is subject to the regulations set forth by each country's Civil Aviation Authority (CAA).
Permission for its use may be granted, accompanied by specific restrictions, contingent upon the qualifications held by the operating drone pilots and the organization they represent.
Is it Difficult to use?
The ease of using the Crown depends on the skill of the FPV pilot and the carrier drone being used. Our tests have shown that even novice FPV pilots can successfully perform drone capture operations with a "point and fly" motion controller drone like the DJI Avata 2. However, a skilled FPV pilot using a powerful FPV drone will likely perform much better and handle more complex scenarios.
